Benefits of the chant

This mantra is a call to the living God asking for this aid and protection from the sorrows and suffering of life. This mantra is a thanks to the liberator and creator who protects us and manifests himself in an earthly form. It is the source of peace and joy to people who have chanted it or even just listened to it. It is believed that this verse can transcend us to the state of love and limitless joy. The peace and calm that come with this mantra should only be experienced from within, not spoken about with people. Even if a person chants the mantra without knowing its meaning, it can positively affect their lives. However, if someone is aware of the meaning and chants it with a pure feeling in their heart, the power of the mantra is boundless. Therefore, it is recommended that you know the meaning to feel the full effects of the mantra. The mantra is capable of helping you feel supreme energy around you, as it can manifest itself anywhere. Ensure that you invoke this mantra with great respect and humility to make the presence stronger.

Important information about the chant

The line ‘Sat-Chit-Ananda’ in the verse refers to triple consciousness. Sat is existence, Chit is consciousness, and Ananda is bliss. These can occur together or separately too. This is the highest plane and to reach here is very difficult. It is believed that only a handful of people have been able to achieve this and reach the highest plane. This plane is a state of realization. When and if we can feel all the three together, we can say that we are living in the Kingdom of Heaven. This mantra starts with Om. The word itself has almost 100 different meanings to it. It is said to be the ‘Supreme’ word that created everything. This word is also used during meditation to transport you to a transcendental level and put your mind at peace. This is the universal sound on which the whole universe vibrates.
