Benefits of the chant
This is a protective mantra, as per the Sikh Dharma International(1) organization. When you feel you need protection from danger, you must chant Aad Guray Nameh. If you believe that nothing is working in your favor and things have stopped, you can chant this mantra, and things will move in your direction. When you call for protection using this mantra, the unseen Wisdom will take control of your protection and you can continue moving forward without worry.
History of the chant
The Aad Guray Nameh mantra was written by the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan. It was used as the Mangala Charan of the Sukhmani Sahi. This prayer is considered very sacred and it is uttered to console the mind.
Important information about the chant
This powerful mantra can be chanted before proceeding with any action for extra protection. You need to repeat the mantra thrice, either silently or loudly. You can practice repetition of the mantra before starting any journey such as commencing Kundalini Yoga, starting a tough conversation, when you sense that things are not quite right, or if you are in any doubt. The mantra is also referred to as the Mangala Charan Mantra, which is a practice of offering something at the feet of your Guru. When you chant Aad Guray Nameh, you are bowing in front of something more powerful and sacred.
